Ok, so this was not a "Men With Beards" calendar shoot, however that could be a great idea for a later date!     

I definitely have been feeling like I didn't shoot as much as I wanted to this winter while I had some downtime. I wanted to start some personal projects and work on my portfolio, and simply shoot and practice. Maybe it was because every week I found myself snow blowing/shoveling/and digging my family and I out of the snow, or the fact that I have 2 jobs, 2 toddlers, and a wife, or maybe it was just laziness. I dunno...

Anyways, I decided to lure a few of my bearded friends into coming to my studio. I told them there would be beer and pizza which generally does the trick. To my surprise it worked! They were in! Now I wanted to challenge myself to work through at least 3-4 different lighting setups (and maybe 3-4 different IPA's). I'm sure none of them were thrilled about being photographed but we had fun it and got a few good shots and I (think I) accomplished my goal.

I want to start doing more of these shoots every few months to work on new skills, practice, and become better.
